    2024 Russ Johnston Memorial Bowling Festival

    We are pleased to report that the City Championship tournaments — SBUSBC Open Championship Tournament and SBUSBC Women’s Tournament — have been rescheduled for January 27 and 28, 2024!

    Going forward, the Santa Barbara Bowling Festival will now be known as the Russ Johnson Memorial Bowling Festival.

    Final details for the tournaments are still pending. Entry forms, rules and other information will be posted here at the SBUSBC web site later in October 2023, and will also be available at the host center, Bowlero Santa Barbara.

    Russ Johnston, 1930 – 2023

    Sadly, in June of 2023, our close bowling community of family and friends lost one of its very best…Russ Johnston. Russ was well known for being the one to get you to sign up in leagues and also be a part of some of the largest contingencies of Santa Barbara bowlers for local, state and national tournaments, as well as Harry Grants Tourney in Encino and the popular Pismo Singles at Pismo Bowl with a busload of bowlers to head out to eat as a huge group afterwards.

    At San Marcos Lanes he hosted the highly popular Holiday Doubles Tournament attracting bowlers far and wide.

    There’ll never be another one like him…

    Our heartfelt thanks, Russ, for everything you did for all of us throughout the years…

    We’ll never forget you.

    Want to know how your team bowled? Want to see who you will be matched against next week? Your standings for all Zodo’s bowling leagues have a new home here at the SB USBC Association web site!

    Updated standings will generally be posted within a few days of your league competition.

    Leagues are Back at Zodo’s September 2021!

    We’re excited to report that Fall bowling leagues started up again at Zodo’s in early September.

    There are still a few spots available, and always opportunities for subs. Stop by the bowling desk at Zodo’s, or call Charity Rice at 805.967.0128 for more information and to sign up.

    If you haven’t heard, Zodo’s is under new ownership — Bowlero took over in mid-June 2021. Visit the Bowlero web site for additional information.
